We’ve got a slice of exciting news to share! The Lost Kitchen has been listed among the 21 perfect places to get a slice of pizza in the UK, as chosen by The Good Food Guide. A little reminder to us just how far we’ve come – and we couldn’t have done it without our wonderful family, friends and community.
Our journey began around 15 years ago, with a pizza oven tucked into the back of a battered Vauxhall Nova boot and a fridge ingeniously fitted into the bonnet. It certainly wasnt polished and there were no cocktails but it was full of fire and fun. We were on a mission to bring something different to the South West party catering: handmade sourdough bases, toppings full of flavour, and every single pizza crafted with care. Back then, mobile wood-fired pizza ovens weren’t just rare – they were unheard of.
We started at a time when most people’s idea of pizza in the UK came from a freezer aisle or a big chain. But we had a vision. Even if it meant standing in the rain by our rocket stove, shrouded in clouds of smoke, with the wind blowing to sunny days with our children and friends helping listening to a wedding band. We were determined to bring a new era of pizza to the UK. We went from event to event, celebration to celebration, slowly introducing people to the joy of handmade, wood-fired pizza.
Fast forward to today, and the ethos that drove us in that little Nova still drives us now. Every pizza we serve at The Lost Kitchen is made with the same attention to detail, but now by an amazing team of chef’s, the same commitment to quality ingredients, and the same love for sharing great food with great people.
We’re thrilled that The Good Food Guide has recognised what we’ve built here, but we’re not stopping! Our pizza menu is getting a glow-up this March, and we can’t wait for you to try the new additions we’ve been working on. Watch this space – things are about to get even more delicious.
